Mentoring Program
Travis County Women Lawyers Association is now accepting applications for our 2022-2023 Mentoring Program!
Travis County Women Lawyers Association is now accepting applications for our 2022-2023 Mentoring Program! The program has been adapted to meet our current needs and is $50 to cover the cost of food for virtual events. However, please do not let cost be a deterrent. We have scholarships available for mentees.
The program matches experienced Mentors with a Mentee in the first five years of practice according to respective backgrounds and legal interests. The Mentors and Mentees will develop a mentoring relationship throughout the year and will be able to discuss career and personal goals, as well as methods to improve legal skills, adjust to the challenges of law practice, and explore new legal career options.
The 9-month program requires a commitment of about one hour per month and will consist of alternating lunch CLE programs and Mentor-Mentee small group meetings. The program begins in September 2022 and will conclude in June 2023.
Any TCWLA member interested in participating as a Mentor (licensed 5 years or more) or as a Mentee (licensed fewer than 5 years), please visit tcwla.org or email Jane Atwood at jane.atwood62@gmail.com or Sherine Thomas at sherine.thomas@traviscountytx.gov to request an application and additional information. Application materials must be submitted by September 16, 2022.
