Lora Livingston Scholarship

The Lora J. Livingston Scholarship was created in 2023 to honor the 27 years of service on the bench of Judge Lora J. Livingston.  Judge Livingston served as judge of the 261^st District Court of Travis County, Texas from 1998 through 2022.  Prior to becoming judge of the 261^st District Court, Judge Livingston was an Associate Judge, District Courts of Travis County, from 1995-1998.  Judge Livingston is a proponent of pro bono activities and has served on the Board of Volunteer Legal Services in Austin.  She has also served on numerous other boards, including those of the Texas Equal Access to Justice Foundation, the National Center on Women and Family Law, the Judicial Section of the State Bar of Texas, and the Texas Center for the Judiciary.  The scholarship, under the auspices of the Travis County Women Lawyers Association Scholarship Fund, Inc., is in the amount of $2,500.00.

The Lora J. Livingston Scholarship is awarded annually to a student attending the University of Texas School of Law who demonstrates a commitment to the community, a passion for access to justice, dedication to pro bono and public service activities, financial need, and exemplifies servant-leadership.
